Bookkeeping Services in the Bronx
Books closed every month, New York City sales tax filed on time, and a year-end package your tax preparer works from directly, at a flat monthly price.
What it is. A CPA-led team keeps your books current every month for the Bronx businesses: transactions categorized, every account reconciled, financial statements delivered on a fixed date, and New York City filings supported.
Who it is for. Small businesses across the Bronx that have outgrown do-it-yourself QuickBooks or a part-time bookkeeper: trades, medical and dental practices, restaurants, professional services, e-commerce, and startups.
Why a New York firm. Your books feed New York City filings that upstate and national bookkeepers do not touch: 8.875 percent sales tax, the Unincorporated Business Tax, the entity-level tax on S corporations, and the MCTMT. We keep them to that standard.
Corviniti provides bookkeeping, accounting, and tax services to small businesses across the Bronx, from The Hub and the Grand Concourse to Fordham Road, Hunts Point, and Co-op City. The Bronx anchors the region's food distribution and a large healthcare economy, and it files under New York City's tax rules.
The service is monthly and flat-priced: we categorize your transactions, reconcile every bank and credit card account, deliver financial statements on a fixed date, and keep the books ready for New York State and New York City filings. The city adds an 8.875 percent sales tax, the Unincorporated Business Tax on sole proprietors and partnerships, and an entity-level tax on S corporations, and the books have to carry the detail each needs.
Corviniti keeps books, plans tax, and files returns for the Bronx businesses under one roof, led by a CPA with Big Four experience. The full New York City tax detail behind this service is on our New York City bookkeeping page; what it means for the Bronx is below.

The gaps, and how we close each one
Service 01
The businesses the Bronx depends on
The books and tax work should fit the local economy. Here is what the Bronx's looks like and why it shapes the work.
How we handle it
The Bronx depends on wholesale food distribution and food manufacturing, healthcare and social assistance, construction, transportation and warehousing, and the retail that fills corridors like Fordham Road and The Hub at 149th Street and Third Avenue. The Hunts Point Food Distribution Center, a 329-acre campus whose produce, meat, and fish markets supply a large share of the city's food, is the largest urban wholesale food hub in the country, and Montefiore Medical Center is among the borough's largest employers. Many of these businesses are small distributors, contractors, and practices operating as sole proprietors or partnerships, so the New York City Unincorporated Business Tax and job-level costing are live issues on the books. We keep them in the shape those city filings and that trade need.
Service 02
Monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations
Most small business books fail in two places: transactions categorized wrong, and accounts that never get reconciled. Both compound until a loan application or a tax deadline forces the question.
How we handle it
We run your books on QuickBooks Online or Xero on a monthly cycle: every transaction categorized against a chart of accounts built for your business, every bank, credit card, and loan account reconciled to the statement, and payroll booked correctly, including the employer taxes owners miscount as profit. You get a profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow summary on the same date every month, with a short note on what moved, and one batched question list rather than a drip of emails.
Behind on the books, or unsure a New York City filing is right? Talk to a CPA before the next deadline, not after it.
Sales tax is where New York City businesses get hurt: the combined rate is 8.875 percent, the money collected is the state's, and businesses that treat it as revenue find out at filing time with penalties attached.
How we handle it
We set the books so sales tax posts to a liability, not income, and reconcile that liability to what the returns remit. The 8.875 percent rate is the state's 4 percent, the city's 4.5 percent, and the 0.375 percent MCTD surcharge that applies across the five boroughs, with clothing and footwear under 110 dollars fully exempt. We prepare and file the quarterly returns and keep the certificates that support every nontaxed sale.
New York City taxes businesses on top of the state, and the city taxes catch owners who assume their federal or state setup carries over.
How we handle it
The city taxes that touch a small business: the 4 percent Unincorporated Business Tax on sole proprietors, partnerships, and LLCs; an 8.85 percent entity-level tax on S corporations, because the city does not recognize the S election; and the MCTMT payroll tax that five-borough employers owe once quarterly payroll expense passes 312,500 dollars. We keep the income, payroll, and owner-draw detail each filing needs already in the books, and flag the ones that apply to your structure.
